- Stupid Human - Swamp Funk - Together -

The Stupid Human Story

This twelve came about very organically, it was first given to Dj Cosmo back in May 2009 where she promptly gave it an airing on her Samurai FM show it was then handed to Bill Brewster whom also promptly dropped it into his Djhistory Podcast to glowing reviews.... following Bill's support the creator of this hugely bluesy funk edit provided it as a limited release via his secret FTP space to various beards & heads. The response was a resounding "properly bumping get it out" from pretty much all that heard it. Being a bit unprepared for this reaction the creator went about sorting out a worthy B side and all the other trials and tribulations with getting stuff onto vinyl. Now backed with a killer Rafael Cameron Edit plus a little political skit called "Mass Madness" the buzz on this little gem is building.

There's more in the pipeline from Stupid Human with Vol 2 scheduled for January/Feb but were on cover up duties till it's all sorted.

Support From

Dj Cosmo (Samaurai FM, Dark Star, Lucky Cloud)
Bill Brewster (Lowlife, Faith)
Mike Burns (Vienna)
Leri Ahel (Croatia)
Terje

.....and more

Now out in selected London stores and via Stupid Human

Common Sense - Where is it?

Some dumb young broad just held me up in the newsagents in Wardour St. She was standing at the counter fanning through one of those bile producing chat type mags whilst loudly telling the guy behind the counter to charge it to her catchy titled PR company. I wouldn't mind but these douchebags actually think that because they work with schlebs that they are somehow further up the food chain than others (there was a big queue). Which kind of really makes me laugh because that's like one of those flies that buzzes round the arse of a herd cow all day hoping to get a juicy piece of arse crust to fester on.

I have just taken a look at the inside of my Snapple lid purchased at the time of said incident and rather cryptically it has written on the inside "In the summer walnuts get a tan" i'm not kidding, is this another one of those ideas some half-wit creative has come up with via a famously expensive Ad agency, give me a break...... You know what? it is, i have just perused the outside of the bottle and nadda, nothing to explain the incomprehensible drivel, so its true then some brain dead moron really thinks "hey lets put this LIKE really random quote on the inside of the lid OMG that will be so LIKE random it will jar people from the boredom of their daily lives"

If you read this and you are a fukwit creative please go shove these cretinous ideas where the sun doesn't shine, i mean come on do something worthwhile with your time, and put that cocaine down you dingbat.

Sunday AM

A classic piece of orchestrated funkyness from the one and only Grover Washington Jr, formulated for your Sunday morning chores the really taxing ones like eating a croissant or deciding to have tea or coffee whilst gazing out across the view of the metropolis wondering if there's anybody else in the world that feels like you do right now.

THE BILDERBERG CLUB: Security: absolutely draconian. Global media coverage: non-existent.

I'm sorry but i felt it my duty to use up my local MP's very valuable time recently. You see my local electoral area is Croydon South and seeing as it's not a gazzillion miles from Westminster i was a little peeved to hear that Richard Ottaway happens to claim second home expenses.

Oh Richard dear what possibly is the matter with East Croydon Station is it that now you are pwoper MP you don't like to mix it with the minions?

With that in mind and also a healthy interest in the secret world of the 50 yr anniversary of Bilderberg i felt it my duty to put some questions his way, apparently it's a little unconstitutional for him not to reply.

Personally i don't go in for the conspiracy theory ideas, but i do however have a great deal of suspicion and concern when the most powerful of people from the four corners of the globe meet together in a shroud of secrecy, much more elected representatives. In actual fact in America it is a federal offence for such a person to attend such a meeting bud it god damn don't stop lots of dem dere congreshmen attending.

Elite behaviour is only enforced and encouraged at meetings like this and for this reason alone is why a light should be shone on its activities.

So be objective when you form your opinions and ask yourself why these people with such varied interests need to meet like this at all, much less cloaked in 50 years of secrecy.

Vinyl Picks For Bearded Hicks

Continuing the vinyl only theme, i thought i would put together something a little different from the split by playhead series something with high quality listening and hopefully lasting quality.

All the tracks in this mix were curated from my vinyl album collection which never seems to stop growing.... upon this journey we take in the quirky synth rock funk of Mandre to the Afro of Barrabas, soaking in the soul of Curtis Mayfield and Hot Chocolate (produced by Mickie Most no less) and not forgetting the filthy sexuality of Betty Davis, bound together with some psychedelic stuff from Yogi & Dave Pike.

1. Juggy Murray Jones - Disco Extrordinaire

2. Biddu Orchestra - Futuristic Journey

3. Mandre - Third World Calling (Opus ii)

4. Undisputed Truth - Brother Louie

5. Barrabas - Wild Safari

6. Maharishi Yogi - The Untapped Source of Power That Lies Within

7. Hot Chocolate - Could Have Been Born in the Ghetto

8. Curtis Mayfield - Kung Fu

9. Betty Davis - Anti Love Song

10. Dave Pike  - Free Improvisation

11. The Meters - i Want To Be Loved By You

12. Trus' Me - Narda

13. Space - Carry on, Turn me on

14. Creative Source - You Can't Hide Love

15. The Beginning Of The End - That's What i Get

Split By Playhead Vol 2

Did i tell you i broke my toe, proper 45 degree angle shit going on. The moral of this story is this ....if your cat is meowing incessantly at 6am in the morning don't get up, just lie in bed and wait, enjoy the warmth and security of life for a few moments more because if you get up like i did and clear up the cat sick on the kitchen work surface then shuffle into the bathroom and nearly kick your toes off you will not be happy.

So i'm proper hopping around and after the burning pain has subsided and my resting heart rate has returned i look down to see said poor market piggy all skeewiff ... Oh Laugh i did.

Anyway i have been layed up with this inconvenience so what better way to entertain myself than to breakout Vol 2 of Split By Playhead.

As before a vinyl only affair lovingly recorded at 24bit 96khz and ripped to high quality 320kbps mp3 for your aural pleasure.

Tribute to Jazzy Jay

Now here's the thing, sometimes there are those that whisper through your life much like one of my jokes, generally passing by unnoticed other times there are those that make an impact an impression, these types of people are the characters that life has a way of throwing up sometimes good often naughty, but never the less unforgettable.  Sometimes we just need to pay attention to the detail and pay tribute to these wonderful artists.

Its the beautiful people that are ugly

Turn the tables, switch the rules because something ain't working is it?

The worlds in a right old tizz.  Second hand cars are worth more than new ones in venezuela's topsy turvey economy. Power structures are collapsing in westminster and Amanda Holden doesn't realise that fire burns upwards.  Oh lordy what a mess.

Is there anyone that can give us stupid humans hope

Music & Harmony

Contrary to what i rant on about this is still a music blog, however it is my belief that there is some serious shit going down that most everyday people don't pay much attention to, much less you Mp3 jacking disco obsessed folks.

I hope you don't mind the interruptions but i do feel i have a duty of care here, i am a citizen i have a voice and a platform. I'm sure some are not at all turned on by the rant and rambles but hey its ok, for those of you that feel that way like the poster says.

KEEP CALM
and
CARRY ON

Here is a absolute gem of a track that for the life of me i must own however at nearly £150 for the OG its a little out of my price bracket, even for a vinyl obsessive such as me.

You took a pay cut today - Bet you didn't know?

The Bank of England has decided to pump more money into the system via its "quantitive easing" strategy.

Lets cut the bull eh?

THEY PRINTED MORE MONEY

If you print more money and add it to the money already in circulation all it does is devalue all that is already in existence.

The Effects:

Short term 6 mths :
More money in the system to lend, quick fix to economy.

Longer term 12-18mths :
You just took a pay cut, your 30K job is no longer 30K

The Insidious subversive fucked up effects: 18mths - 2yrs:
High inflation.

A word on the last comment, when money is devalued prices rise to counter the effect of the quantitive easing, this process ripples through the economy creating inflation hence the longer term effect.

The net effect on the average person is YOU are picking up the bill, until as such time as you either work longer hours or negotiate a pay rise you won't be able to buy as much.

Recap :
You have just been robbed of some of your WEALTH.

Sounds alarming doesn't it.......

Whats really alarming is the hordes of people that decide that economics or politics is not for them.

Get active, get educated, its easy.

Drop comments on BBC news or other newspaper website's
(they hear the chatter)

Don't just sit there moaning watching endless shit TV.

Closing the Loopholes

Obama comes good and drops a bomb on the elite see here

Broadly in life we have 3 things that have a huge influence on our day to day lives, those being who we work for, Corporations, Government and Taxation.

These three things alone play a huge part in the waxing and waning of inequity so its nice to read that after 100 days Obama has taken a decisive step in the right direction and started to close offshore tax loopholes.

When corporations behave as an entity without a moral obligation to pay their dues by tax avoidance measures we all suffer the burden.

Why should corporations pay less of a percentage of earnings than say a humble employee when for example the corporation has so much more to protect. When humanity starts to realise we are all interdependent and we all have a responsibility to each other and the cradle of life that is this planet then we can expect to see huge changes around the world.

however while this is a step in the right direction measures such as these need to be rolled out around the world much like the combined financial bailout in order to have a proper balancing effect. Only then can we understand that wholesale greed only serves to enslave rather than free

Ok Enough already here's some music
